The Voltage Protection & Limiter Unit provides cost-effective and safe integration of Keithley 3 kV SMU 2657A into existing 500 V - 1 kV (3-lug standard triax) laboratory measurement setups. The unit safely limits output voltages to a configurable value of 500 V - 1.1 kV via multi-level and independent safety monitoring.
Up to six additional 200 V SMUs (e.g. Keithley 2636/37, SCS4200, 236/238) can be connected. These are protected against overvoltage by the integrated overvoltage protection. Furthermore, an interlock management is integrated in the VPL 3100, so that all devices available in the system, e.g. wafer probers and test fixtures, can be integrated.
The safety shutdown of the VPL 3100 causes a safe disconnection of all connected high voltage SMUs and 200 V SMUs in case of an interlock trip or in case of an overvoltage of the 3 kV source. The VPL 3100 offers simple, clear and reliable measurement setups up to 1 kV with all components in one device. It eliminates the need for expensive 3 kV safe measurement cabling and text fixtures for measurement requirements of up to 1.1 kV.
